To the valued readers of A Life Designed – I have been carrying this topic around in my back pocket for months now waiting for the proper time to discuss as it is very special, near and dear to my heart. As this entry marks the 100th post since I began this blog last July, I can’t think of a more fitting topic to mark this milestone than to discuss the incredible healing powers of ‘music’ and share with you a very personal story that illustrates just how powerful this medium and form of communication can be.

What is it about music that seems to hit the human soul so deeply and profoundly? Music provides the soundtrack to our lives. I would imagine that just about everyone has certain songs that upon hearing unexpectedly on the radio, can instantly bring memories flooding back of a time gone bye… A first kiss, a special summer, a broken heart. In some very special cases, music can even act as means of communication with a departed loved one. I know this to be true because it happened to me.
