The peeps @A Life Designed are beaming after reading this latest feedback from another happy client that we received this morning:
“I wanted to let you know that the items have arrived and I’m really happy with them. Thank you for such fast shipment, and for great packaging. I haven’t hung the picture yet, but have just the spot for it, and am anxious to see it up. I’ve been following your page for a while now and have had my eye on a few things. I really loved the optic dial and am sad that it’s sold, but I will keep checking for any new great finds that you may come up with. I’ve also been considering the wooden mold that you have. I think it’s pretty great, but I need to find the right spot here that is beckoning just that sort of interesting piece. Thank you again, and best of luck with your business.”

“We need to feel like we belong to this experience, we need to know our place, we need to know where we fit. We need to feel that we’re accepted for who we are. So the goal you may think is to, get a show, get press or to make money or to have fame. But it’s not, the thing we all really want is to feel connected.” — Alyssa Monks, Artist, Brooklyn NY
First profiled on A Life Designed back in 2013 in our piece Creative Spaces, we recently stumbled upon this beautifully shot film of the gifted painter Alyssa Monks. In it she expresses her thoughts on what it means to be an artist, the need to express, and the need to find one’s place in the world… one’s connection.
Shot by filmmaker Jesse Brass with music courtesy of Lerin Herzer, Andrew Joslyn and Podington Bear, we were immediately moved by the message and just had to share.
If you are at all interested in the process of creativity, do yourself a favor and watch. Trust us, there are worse ways to spend 5 minutes.

A Life Designed lands first global sale and we say sayōnara as our Norman Bel Geddes desk wings its way to Tokyo.
Wow! We didn’t see this one coming but we are very happy it did. After a month of negotiations, multiple emails and scheduling of shipment, A Life Designed is proud to announce the completion of our first foreign sale.
Since the launch of our online store in July of 2013, we have had the pleasure of sending our sweet industrial and mid-century modern decor as far east as New York and west as San Francisco with points in between but this sale most definitely takes the ‘most miles’ award, hands down.
So… it’s official! A Life Designed is now able to ship worldwide.
We have sourced an excellent international shipping company here in the Phoenix area and welcome inquiries from around the world. If you are in a country outside the United States and have your heart set on a piece in our online shop, please don’t hesitate to email us at email@example.com to discuss your delivery options.
And to our new client Yozo in Tokyo… Enjoy your desk my friend and Omedetō!
