Scottsdale’s minibar.ber.shop; One part barbershop / One part bar / One part ultimate man cave.
This past weekend I stumbled upon what has to be one of the most brilliant concepts in retail I have ever experienced. The minibar.ber.shop, located in Scottsdale Quarter is one of those places you walk into and suddenly a lightbulb comes on over your head and you think; “Duh!… Why didn’t I think of this?”
Imagine that you sat down one day and decided to dream up the perfect ‘guy’s retreat’, a place where you could go get tuned-up while chilling out. That’s exactly what Evan, the owner and brains behind minibar.ber.shop did. Mixing a sophisticated-yet friendly, guy-dedicated salon with an adjacent bar that will serve you a cold frosty $2.00 beer while you’re getting your haircut is just the start. Now, add in a state-of-the-art sound system and guest D.Js on Thursday and Saturday nights. Toss in big screens playing ESPN and wrap it all up in an über-hip design and Voila!, you have the minibar.ber.shop concept.
During my visit I was fortunate to meet Evan and Sarah, the bubbly bartender on duty. Both were very friendly and as I sipped one of their signature Saketinis I could look through the window that divides the bar/eatery section and barbershop and watch the talented stylists work their magic. Along with beer, wine and Sake-based mixed drinks you can also order sandwiches and salads. Evan was kind enough to offer up a sample of one of the Paninnis they serve and I found myself wishing I hadn’t already eaten lunch…Very tasty!
Guys, if your looks could use a little freshening up, do yourself a BIG favor and pay a visit to minibar.ber.shop. Your wife or girlfriend will thank you and the $2.00 beer ‘attitude adjustment’ won’t hurt either!
