Finally, a hybrid that is truly ‘electric.’ Introducing The BMW i8 Concept Car.
You saw it first in the latest installment of the Mission Impossible series and now, fiction becomes reality. The BMW i8 Concept Car, scheduled for production in 2014 may just have you rethinking your opinion of ‘Hybrid‘ cars altogether.

The BMW i8 concept plug-in hybrid car gets its juice from a lithium-ion battery pack that allows an all-electric range of 22 mi. Its top speed is electronically limited to 160 mph, (limited?!) and is expected to go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. Under normal driving conditions the i8 is expected to deliver 80 mpg-US. A full charge of the battery will take less than 2 hours using 220V. Lovers of the traditional need not worry, the BMW i8 also features a TwinPower Turbo combustion engine. The Ultimate Driving Machine indeed!
Call it an electric or call it traditional… We call it sexy.
