To say that Miami-based Illot Vintage is ‘obsessed’ with the fading art of 35mm photography would be an understatement to say the least. No, these folks are on a mission to put the “cool” back in “old-school” vintage cameras.
Late last summer while wandering through a flea market, I came upon some old cameras destined for the scrap heap and it was love at first sight. There was just something comforting about the retro-styling and history of these hand-held works of art that made me wistful for, (what I perceived to be anyway), a slower, gentler time. Clearly the enthusiasts at Illot Vintage agree and have taken their appreciation of these relics from the days of pre-electronic photography to a whole new level.
The Illot team carefully refurbishes select, vintage range finder cameras that they acquire, testing them thoroughly before taking them out on assignment. Interested in purchasing one of these lovingly restored gems? Check out their online store and take home a piece of history today. Oh, and don’t forget to smile and say cheese!
