Blues, booze and BBQ aren’t the only things colorful and eclectic Austin, Texas is famous for. Long a haven for creative souls, artisans and ‘tinkerers’ of all stripes, it’s no surprise Machine Shop Lighting Co. calls Austin home.
Born out of contractor Marc Knight’s frustration over the available lighting choices for his building projects, he started Machine Shop Lighting Co. to create his own lighting solutions and the results are nothing short of amazing.
Heavily influenced by industrial design, his lamps are a mixture of hand-blown Pyrex glass and fitted steel components. Retro-inspired, these lamps harken back to a time of proud craftsmanship and artistry but are reinterpreted with a modern, hip, industrial-chic vibe. Illuminating indeed!
